LONG BIO (for media kit, press, partnerships)
Colleen Daugherty is the founder and principal designer of Devon Downs Design, LLC, a Dublin, Ohio–based interior design studio recognized for delivering sophisticated, heritage-driven interiors with a modern point of view. Her work is defined by a signature blend of East Coast influence—drawing from British, French, and American traditional design—and a deep understanding of how spaces should function for real life.
Before launching Devon Downs Design, Colleen spent over 20 years as a Physician Assistant in women's gynecology oncology, where she developed a meticulous, research-based approach to problem-solving and client care. That background continues to shape her philosophy today through neuroaesthetic design—rooted in precision, empathy, and a strong belief that environments have a measurable impact on mental well-being. Being Neurodiverse herself helps to understand these client's needs in a very unique way.
Since founding the firm in 2013, Colleen has built a reputation for creating highly personalized, layered interiors that integrate custom design, architectural detail, and curated vintage elements. Her work spans full-service residential projects, large-scale renovations, and select hospitality and commercial spaces, with a growing focus on designing environments that support neurodivergent individuals and families through thoughtful, sensory-aware design.
Known for her strong industry relationships and ability to connect people, Colleen is often described as a “walking rolodex” within the design community. She is an active member of the Interior Design Society (IDS) and a leader within the Curated Columbus design community, while also contributing to philanthropic efforts including cancer research fundraising, community initiatives, and housing support organizations. She leads design bootcamps with DesignHounds in Columbus and is a brand ambassador for Blue Star Cooking.
Colleen is actively expanding her national presence through brand partnerships, speaking engagements, and industry events such as KBIS and High Point Market. She is particularly passionate about collaborating with brands that align with her values of craftsmanship, performance, and design integrity—bringing those partnerships into both her client work and broader content platforms.
At its core, Devon Downs Design is built on the belief that great design is not just about how a space looks—but how it makes you feel. Each project is approached with intention, ensuring that every detail contributes to a home that is timeless, functional, and deeply reflective of the people who live there.
